I'm sorry...but what is it about kids and their boogers...eating them in particular.
So, not long after Lucy started going to nursery at church she started enjoying a little snack of snot every now and then. Now I know that for some weird reason, kids eat their boogers. Why, I do not know. But it's gross. Really gross to me. Everyone says "don't worry, they'll grow out of it", and then I remembered something I had blocked from my memory long ago. Oh no they don't all grown out of it, and I have the story to prove it. Beware...this is gross. Seriously. But as much as it pains and severely embarrasses me that I may have been associated with this person at one time, I must share. Just know that I am vomiting in my mouth as we speak.
It was my freshman year of college and I may have dated a real winner, in a very non-winner kinda way. Let's just say that ambition (among other things) was not one of his strong points. Anyway, one night, very close to when I actually ended the whole thing, we were at my apartment watching a movie with a bunch of people. He was sitting in a chair and I was sitting on the floor next to him. The kicker is that there was a mirror in the hallway that happened to be across from us. I just happened to notice the mirror reflection at the moment he picked a little somthin', look around to make sure no one saw, and had a little snack! (this is me dry heaving now....). Needless to say, I was mortified that a grown man would be "pickin' a winner", and that I had just witnessed him sneaking "it", and that I was actually dating him!(me rolling my eyes) sick. sick. sick. And no, I most absolutely did not kiss him goodnight! sick.
So there. Not all kids do grow out of it. So it's not exactly irrational for me (after being traumatized like that)to stress about Lucy enjoying a little snack once in a while right?
sick.

Eli: "i can pull a penny out of your ear"
Lincoln: "how?"
Eli: "magicians never tell their secrets"
Lincoln: I bet you can't say my phone number"

funny thing is.....
Isn't it super funny when you only work saturdays so you wear the same pair of red scubs every time because they are the only ones you have and why would you spend the money you are making on more scrubs when, as already stated....you only work one day a week. until you happend to work 2 days a week because they super bad need you and then you go to D.I. and buy a pink pair of scrubs so you can wear your red ones one day and your pink ones the other so people won't think you're gross. and then a few weeks later when you are back to working only one day a week but you decide to keep the pink scrubs in the rotation and wear them that day, and you work with another therapist that you haven't seen for a bit and she says something really funny like..."wow, i'm so glad you got rid of those red scrubs! they were really on there way out and they just had to go!" and then she squishes up her face like she is remembering them and their disgustingness, and you just smile and nod and pretend like you totally threw them out because of course you know that you may have resewn the waistband...twice...with black thread, and the back seam may be coming undone and you were just waiting for the time you bend over and totally rip your pants open, and the bottom hems may be completely torn and ragged. and now you have to let your red scrubs die because you now know that everyone has already noticed how bad of shape your pants were in and your kinda embarrased.
isn't it funny when stuff like that happens? yeah, i know. funny.

cake pops!
so i've actually been meaning to post these but i just forgot. then you (as in 1 of you) asked, so here they are!
These are cake pops, and they are delicious. you basically break up a cooked cake and mix in the frosting, roll them in balls (or other shapes) and dip them in almond bark (melted chocolate) then decorate. (beware, they are much more time consuming than they sound or look!)
i wish that i could take credit for the idea (cause then i'd be rich and famous) but they are from bakerella.com
she makes all kinds and she is fabulous! she shows you just how to do it. (here are a few that i have stolen...
i did these for an enrichment night...
these are the only ones i made up myself for a friends "pig party"
i even made real money on these guys! i felt like a real pretend baker girl...
these might be my favs. i just love them.
i didn't have the right eye decorations or enough time/care to perfect and finish these, but lucy still loved them.
you should make them. and eat them. and love them. like me.
