Well, I had a great time in New York City last week. I had never been there, and I seriously felt like a giddy little girl for the first 2 days,
ok maybe 3 days. I may or may not have stared at the "authentic N.Y.C. policeman" at the airport (he looked just like the movies do), blurted out loud "oh, my gosh! i can see my breath!!" when we exited the airport into the
freezing cold night, or danced around with the hugest grin on my face while waiting for the first subway of my life. That would have been so
embarrassing if I had done those things.
sheesh.

But seriously, that place is crazy, and crazy
awesome at the same time. I am now 100% sure that I am not a city girl, or a cold weather girl, or a rich girl, or a well traveled girl. Although it was fun wearing cute hats and scarves for a change, on the last day I was so tired of dressing and undressing all day long. Just to go to the bathroom was a production because you have so many layers on. I'm all about shirt, shorts and flip flops, the end. It was a wonderful experience and I am so grateful I got to go. Thanks to all who helped me live one of my dreams! It was
awesome!
I took a baking class at the Ice Culinary Institute. Our instructor was this awesome, older, Italian, gay New Yorker. Am I allowed to say that? He never actually said he was gay, but I have never heard anyone who wasn't gay talk with the "gayish" voice. Can I say that either? Oh well, you all know what I'm talking about. One of my favorite memories of the trip is me and Ange staying up all night talking in our best "gay new yorker" voices laughing hysterically.
It wis hil-arious darling. just feabulous.
We baked a ton! every day. here are a few of our treats from the third day. Eating a lot of it was a must, and if we didn't then we got kicked out. OK, not really. We kept telling ourselves we would walk it off later, but it didn't quite even itself out. We probably would have had to run a marathon each day. oh, well, it was worth it!

We went to Phantom one night and it was amazing! Thanks to my mom and dad for upgrading our tickets to the 6
th row! I can't even imagine being able to sing like that.
On our way to Grand Central Station we walked past this lady running, then we looked closer...

funny.
We of course had to stop in at Serendipity for a frozen hot chocolate. Yum!
We also made it down to the financial district and the New York Stock Exchange. There are some really beautiful old buildings down there.
The statue of Liberty was a highlight for me! I loved it, next time I hope to take a tour of Ellis Island too.
and lastly, while walking around Times Square I noticed this sign blazing away in the cold night air. Hello! I love this word, so I had to take a picture. Seriously.
So, super great trip. Thanks Ange for letting me tag along, love your guts!
