hamily phone evening and floating sins...

My Linc. dog is 5 years old now and still calls F.H.E "Hamily Phone Evening". He always has and we just think it's so cute that apparently we are never going to correct him. We just smile and enjoy it while it lasts. maybe that's mean, but whateva. And for your enjoyment here is a super great site that I use all the time for our Hamily Phone Evening lessons. They have tons to choose from and are very small children friendly.

We also went with Hannah last night to our ward's little meeting for the children turning 8 this year, to get them ready for their baptism. Yes, holy crazy! In a few short months I will have a baptized daughter. I can't talk about it right now because I'll start crying...again. Anyway, we were in the car today and talking about getting baptized and she said "after they wash away your sins what if someone else gets in and gets all the sins on them?" oh, so cute. I just love those conversations where you try to explain "symbolism" and great stuff like that. She's a thinker that girl. She's also such a thankful girl...she even thanked Heavenly Father for the "liquid" that we received today and hoped we would receive more "liquid" in tonight's prayer. love it.
love them.

The Olympics make me cry...

That's right. It's pretty ridiculous. I haven't got to watch much of the Olympics, which turns out to be a good thing, because I get teary eyed pretty much throughout the whole thing. And guess what....I don't even really like the Winter Olympics. I mean, I like it, but it's not like I grew up pretending I was snowboarding the Half-pike or something like I did with gymnastics.

Still, I love, love all the background stories of people who had major setbacks in life and still made it somehow to the Olympics. tears. win or loose...tears. Today I saw that a girl was skiing and seriously skied off the course into a ditch and broke like 3 ribs. And what do you think she did? Yeah, she got back up and won a medal. Like a superstar. tears. The worst is that I can't even watch the Olympic commercials. Today there were 2 in a row about the Olympians mothers....seriously.... those were tear jerkers.

Maybe i'll take up Curling (since that looks easy enough...i mean you can even be pregnant and do that one....) and get into the Olympics just so they could do one of those emotional video montages about how awesome I am and how I overcame sooo much to become a world class curler.

a girl can dream.

Christmas in Vegas

So my cute hubby got me/us a trip to Vegas for my Christmas present, which was awesome because... well, it's a vacation obviously.
So we had a wonderful time even though we walked over 4 miles the first night even though I had been warned that "it is farther down the strip than it seems". Oh well, walking 4 miles without kids is way better than walking 4 miles with kids, so we were good. We went to Cirque Du Soleil and had a great time there. Those people are really cool freaks.
We also went on a little pretend balloon ride

I say pretend because it was tethered to the ground and you just go straight up 500 ft. and hang out for a bit...so i decided to spice up the ride...
this is me trying to get the thing spinning. peder made me stop because he didn't think it was "allowed" (lame) and also the other passengers were freaking out when they kept feeling the balloon moving.

we saw the sites and even went on a time share presentation to get free tickets to stuff (like the balloon ride and another show)

we loved the Bellagio fountains and i even got to see 2 Elvis'...

so that was awesome...obviously. It's not every day that you get to met a Mexican Elvis and an Elvis who looks exactly like Steve Nash from the Suns.

One of the highlights was going to a fancy restaurant where we know the chef,... and when i say "know" ......i mean we have seen him on t.v. We shared Panda Express for dinner the night before so we could go to Olives. The food was fabulous, i mean really really fabulous,

but the best was that we got to sit on the edge of their balcony which is on the lake of the Bellagio.

this is it in the day...

this is it at night...
we were just giddy because of how fun it was to sit there and watch the water shows and eat delicious food. very romantical.

this is peder trying to make a silly face on the
last night.
we went and visited Troy and Jessica and got in a few games of Settlers, yummy hot chocolate and cupcakes. We used to live in the same apartment complex and would play together with the Jones' almost every night! It was good reliving the glory days.

We had a great time being together. love you honey. thanks for the great trip!

Not a good sign...

You know things are bad when you keep getting compliments from your kids over and over about your "lovely hair" and your "cute outfit" and how "nice you look today"...because apparently they are in shock that you actually got out of your gym clothes and put makeup on and did your hair. sad. yeah, i guess i'll have to work on that. sometime.
