The Land of Disney

We were lucky enough this year to get some of those free tickets to Disneyland for doing service in our community. we finally went and had a great time. it went something like this...

buzz...we had to do this one twice and i might add that i am the greatest EVER at this ride. we are talking over 200,000 pts people. i'm just gonna say...level 4 baby.

i have to stop here to say that this girl was hilarious on this ride. she drove- obviously, and was laughting histerically every time we hit the center bar...which was constantly. it was so funny!

cute cute cousin Anna came and met us for some fun. ya know, cuz she can just come anytime she wants. ya know, cuz she works there. she's super cool like that.

this is them cracking up because i turned around to take a pic of them and aparently so did lucy. only she stood up out of her seatbelt and started waving frantically. nice.

this is lincoln at his jedi training ya know. let my just say that this is the best and the absolute worse thing in disneyland. you pretty much have 100 screaming kids wanting so desperatly to be picked out of the crowd by the jedi master "sensing the strong force within you".  then you have 20 really happy kids who get to participate and 80 who don't. we tried 3 times to get this kid picked...

it was worth it in the end but i have to say that i dont' think Walt would be too happy about the set up. i mean it's THE happiest place on earth. not just for 20 kids every 2 hrs.

we only had a few really "fun" things happen like lucy waking up the night before and not being able to go back to sleep for 2 HOURS. Lincoln crying his eyes out on the Indian Jones ride. Lucy getting to the very end of her rope in (a long) line for Peter Pan (for the second time because it was Lincoln's absolute favorite).
we had a great great time. i highly recommend going in the "off season" -during the week. we were able to do everything we wanted to and had a fabulous day.

it's great to be 8!

Our cute Hannah turned 8 last week and was baptized. I'm not gonna lie, it was a little emotional for me. It made me feel so happy, excited, grateful, and old. Seriously. I'm not supposed to have an eight year old yet! Next thing I know she is going to be driving, and dating, and high schooling, and smooching, and.... oh man. I can't handle it.
Anyway, we had a wonderful day.

She was baptized at our stake baptism with 2 other children. Not my first choice but it actually turned out really nice and not that big of a deal that it wasn't just hers. There were soo many people there for her and she felt so loved.

The scorpion in the chapel light was a little distracting though especially when right after talking about it to my mom, I felt Lucy's shoe tickle under my knee and totally freaked out because I thought it was another scorpion. Just picture a lovely calm meeting and then me having a seizure in the middle of it trying to wipe off the imaginary scorpion. Nice.

Hannah kept up the Hancock girl tradition and sang a song (I Like to Look for Rainbows) and did so beautifully. She wasn't nervous one bit. It was a wonderful day.

Then of course we had to have a party!

she loves the idea of having her own towel to use now, and it's something she can use everyday to remind her of of her baptism!
