from treasure, to trash, to treasure

this was my wedding tiara almost 10 years ago. i loved it, and my mom really really loved it =), and my kids really loved to play with it...as noted by it's falling apart-ness(because when was i ever going to wear it again?).
until i decided to rip it apart and make something i could wear again! I'm a bracelet lover and i am so happy with how it turned out!

i took off all the round pieces, E-6000 glued them to some flat beads, strung them up, added a little more bling and a clasp and there ya go!
happy 10 year anniversary to me!

oh yeah...

it was halloween! i'm a little behind...obviously.
here's how it went down.
we had a Cinderella, a Super Girl, and an Iron man this year

once Lucy figured out that all she had to do was go up to people and say Trick-or-treat and they would give her candy she was off! it really is quite a great set up. maybe we should try the same thing for other stuff like...dinner, or money or cars. hmmm.
 hannah and caleb.
me and Linc. i stole a wig from my friend marni and started talking to Lincoln. It was funny cuz he didn't recognize me for a few minutes. He just kept looking very confused at me and then
finally it dawned on him that i was his mom.  silly.

we had a great Halloween! hope you did too!

oh barf, Legoland

We had never been to Legoland so we decided to give it a whirl on our way home from disneyland. I'll start with the last picture of the day first...just for your viewing pleasure.
Here is Lucy right after she barfed all over herself and the aquarium. it was lovely rinsing out all her clothes and blanket in the bathroom. this is her so sad because she had to take all her clothes off and wear her sweater...and because she just barfed. this cute picture almost made it worth it...
until she continued to vomit THE ENTIRE 6 HR. TRIP HOME. we are talking barf every 5-10 minutes for an hour and a half and then sporadically throughout the rest of the trip. wow.
it was so sad and when Lincoln started feeling "funny" and holding a cup to his mouth i told Peder- "if he starts barfing we are getting a hotel! i cannot do this!" luckily Lincoln was all right. it was probably just the smell of vomit in the car for hours and hours. it kinda makes me feel woozy just thinking about it now.  Luckily after the first vomit we stopped at a gas station and i bought 3 large soda cups, ya know "just in case" she threw up again. it was the best $1.50 i have ever spent.

now rewind. here is legoland in all it's glory...before the barfing started.

we had a really fun time there. it helped tremendously that it was raining in the morning so NO ONE else came to the park. well, hardly anyone anyway. we rarely had to wait in a line and when we did it was really short. in fact they had a roller coaster that Lucy could even ride and we all went on it 3 times in a row. the kids thought it was so great.
so there is our trip. i love making family memories. actually this trip reminded me of a time when i was young and our family drove to sea world. I'm a barfer remember...and i made it all the way there without throwing up...until....we pulled into our parking space at sea world and i just lost it. i threw up all over the truck! it makes me laugh just thinking about it now. lucky me I've passed down the tradition to my kids, and someday they will laugh too.
