Camping with Grandpa...

So since i'm a big fat scaredy cat to stay at home by myself when my hubby's gone...my dear ol' dad agreed to take me and the kids camping. and the only thing better than camping with my dad... is camping with my sister and my dad. and the only thing better than camping with my dad and my sister...is camping with my dad, sister, and my dad's camper so i only have to camp half way. =)

We had a great time, and Hannah felt that we needed a pic of pretty much everything about their first camping trip...
she'd be perfect on The Price is Right huh?.

in front of the tent...
in the tent.

she loved the small things...

and lincoln loved the fire. as you can see, he is enjoying roasting some pine cones.

we beautified nature...

and ourselves...
spent quiet moments in trees...
went on a "hike"...
learned about lichen from grandpa...
pretended to be a bull...
had water fights...
played hard with cousins....
painted with as much glitter as possible...
and had a wonderful time!
and then we went home and did laundry. a lot.

we had a wonderful time! thanks for taking us dad, and thanks for getting everything ready mom! love you guys!

The cake story

so...i made a cake.
a wedding cake.
my first wedding cake ever.
i only agreed to do it
because the bride sounded like
she didn't care what it looked like.
and i thought..."hey that sounds like a job i could handle"

this was the bottom layer. it felt giant.

especailly when my flabby arm got really tired of putting on frosting.

it was the biggest...and the tallest cake i've ever made.
and it took FOREVER.

but it actually turned out pretty good.

and then i died.
and vowed i would never do that again.
especially for 4.25 an hour! (vomit)

but i probably will. cause it was kinda fun...
after i didn't feel like crying.

the end.

there will be beds in heaven

oh yes, there will.
i spent 2 nights in a camper sleeping on a so called "bed". it was really just a foam pad with plywood underneath. now don't get me wrong...i was greatful for that foam pad, but since i'm getting really old now -halfway through the second night my back was screaming for its pillowtop back home. and there in the middle of the night i knew....that there will be lovely beds in heaven. the kind of heavenly beds we can only imagine. lovely huge beds, with 15 inch memory foam and 10,000 count sheets, and comforters you can snuggle up in and keep you the perfect temperature all night. i know, it sounds like heaven...cause it will be.

and in hell....you'll have to sleep on rocks. sharp ones.
